New House, New Offer
Ok, So we looked around at other houses on Saturday and Monday. Just so we could compare them to our offer. Most houses we looked at were in far worse shape than Oakdale ( That big white house.) Things were looking good for us to follow through on the sale.
The inspector was right in that this houe was indeed typical for the area, and we were getting it at a discounted rate. However there were a worries about the surprises that house *could* throw at us with so much else needing to be done on it. It looked like Oakdale was going to be our best choice. Although we don't really *need* a place untill spring.
On Monday the last house we saw was in amazing shape. Not the same kind of re-sale potential. But definetly less potential headache.
So We put a bid in on it, significatly lower than the asking price, it's been accepted. Just like before, It is conditional upon inspection and financing. I want to say "this is the house" But I'm so tired of house hunting and it seems that this will just somehow be a let down as well, are all those renovations hiding a bigger problem?
I don't have the same excitment over this bid. But I'm still happy about it. The inspector comes on Friday to see the place and we will have till Monday to close the deal.
If we get this house the move in date would be for March 1st.
We will see how it goes! More house hunting updates to come.Posted by becca at December 3, 2003 01:36 PM
